Teradon Industries Inc. has
a history of breaking ground in the field of educational
technologies. We strive to deliver products to schools
that amplify both the child’s learning experience
and their potential to excel, as well as streamline
the planning process for teachers and educators. We
are your trusted resource for the most comprehensive
Educational Technology Solutions on the market.
By
understanding that the needs of every school are
unique, Teradon works hard to develop solutions
that best match your school's educational technology
goals.
Our in-house engineers design and integrate our
software and hardware to offer a full line of intelligent
products that work to effectively enhance learning
through the use of technology.
It
all began in 1992 when Teradon invented Telephone
Control with Voice Prompt technology. Telephone
Control gave teachers the ability to control media
playing in their head-end system right from the
classroom.
Soon
after, Teradon engineered, and was first to market,
what would become the next generation in Media Management:
Computer Control. Operating over a TCP/IP protocol,
Computer Control allows for simultaneous control
from both PC and Macintosh. With the added prowess
of LAN Scheduler, educational institutions regarded
Teradon’s new media management solution as
the industry standard within its first three years
of production.
Development
progressed and in a few months time Teradon Introduced
LAN Reservation. From its launch, LAN Reservation
offered the most comprehensive scheduling and time
management solution available to the educational
market.
Moving
to make all Teradon systems compatible with existing
wiring infrastructures Teradon released X-Cat, a
video over UTP solution that uses CAT3, CAT5, CAT5e
or CAT6 wire to transport broadband video.
With
a desire to stay on top, Teradon released its Digital
Video Server, offering high quality digital-video
on-demand to the K-12 & college market.
To
fill the demand for Digital Video Servers and the
need for innovative ways to control and schedule,
Teradon invented Online Video Center (OVC), a Web
Based (HTML) Media Management Control and Scheduling
system all in one application. With OVC there is
even the capability to control a Hybrid Media System
that integrates our Digital Video Server with traditional
head end systems, thus maximizing a schools resources.
Going
hand-in-hand with OVC is our Infrared Control, which
makes it possible to sever the bond between teacher
and computer. Working much the way you would control
a DVD player, Teradon’s Infrared Control gives
teachers the power to engage students in constructive
dialog at any instant from anywhere in the classroom
via a universal handheld remote with no additional
software.
Teradon
became the first in the industry to hire teachers
specializing in Media Management technologies in
the classroom. Our education department focuses
not only on system usage, but also on total integration
into daily learning and on the establishment of
multi-media classrooms to enhance child learning.
Teradon
teamed up with a nationally recognized provider
of Video Content offering thousands of Digital Video
titles that meet National Curriculum Standards in
all subject areas for grades pre K-12.
Branching
into other education technologies, in early 2003,
Teradon unveiled the Teracom Intercom system. It
is the first truly computer controlled intercom
providing an easy-to-use, feature rich and cost
effective intercom solution.
These
products together have set our foundation, making
Teradon Industries, Inc. the most advanced Educational
Technology Company in the world. Teradon continues
to use flexible architectures in its development,
allowing for ease of integration with new and existing
technologies. We are your partners in education.
